Mamo has over thirty years of intellectual property experience. During this time, he has developed a strong technical background in areas including organic and inorganic chemistry, optics, display devices, glass products, and fused silica. Mamo is known for his particular excellence in advising Japanese companies on patent application revisions and best practices before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining Element IP, Mamo was Of Counsel at Oblon, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, L.L.P. Before working there, he practiced in the Intellectual Property Division of AGC Inc., in Japan, as a senior manager. At AGC Inc, he managed various patent portfolios relating to several types of glass products, display devices, optical devices, and materials for electronic products, including preparing and prosecuting patent applications in such technologies. He also provided legal support in various patent matters, such as patent clearances, licensing, and enforcement.
