Matthew E. Barnet, Ph.D., is a patent attorney and partner at Element IP. His practice focuses on patent procurement and client counseling, including expertise in validity and infringement opinions.

Mat’s extensive technical background facilitates his comprehensive understanding and appreciation of his clients’ inventions. This allows him to advocate effectively for his clients’ interests in proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Mat has assisted Global 500 companies, start-ups, and individuals in the procurement of patents in both the United States and abroad. He is experienced in dealing with a diverse range of technologies, including biotechnology, catalysis, chemical separation processes, cosmetics, glass products, imaging devices, light-emitting materials, metallurgy, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, plastics, polymers, and semiconductors.
